Of course, freelancing isn't all fun and games. You're still subjected to the whims of your client, even if he/she has unreasonable demands. Making your own way means you have to market yourself.
If you're wondering how to make freelancing work in your particular field, you're not the only one. Each field has its own quirks, and every business owner has a unique idea of what success means and how to get there.
Over the next few weeks, I'll be working to get some input from freelancers who've made their career and/or their passion into a business. So if you've been thinking that your talent as a decorator, accountant, writer, artist, tutor, graphic artist, or underwater basket weaver has gone unnoticed by the world for too long, I hope you'll find some inspiration from some other people who have turned their skills into dollars.
