Some organizations are committed to making sure flexible workplaces are getting the recognition they deserve. One of these awards, the Alfred P. Sloan award for Workplace Flexibility, is a national award that companies throughout the United States can apply for. Candidates have to go through a pretty rigorous process in order to qualify for the award.
This year in Utah, 13 companies won! This is a pretty big deal--the awards are part of When Work Works, which is a national research-based initiative and part of a joint partnership between the Families and Work Institute (trust me when I say FWI is the granddaddy of work/life studies) and the Society for Human Resource Management.
The award ceremony for Utah will be held Thursday, November 8 at the Marriott City Center at 11:00 am. I'm really excited to hear about how these companies are implementing flexible strategies! If you're not a flex nerd like me, that might not sound exciting to you, but if you worked for one of those companies, that could mean major perks and major time for your family. That's what it's all about, right?
